Privacy policy

This explains what happens to your information when you use this site. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask me and I will explain it.

Last updated

Written in plain English so it is actually readable. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. If you need a formal position on anything here, ask me and I will get it checked.

Who is responsible for your data

The Visibility Bureau. In data protection terms it is the data controller, which means it decides what is collected and why. Contact info@thevisibilitybureau.com and it reaches the person responsible.

You can reach me at info@thevisibilitybureau.com about anything on this page, including asking me to delete what I hold about you.

What I collect

Two things. What you choose to send, and anonymous analytics if you agree to it.

If you fill in the contact form, I receive the name, email address and message you typed, plus the optional website, country and timing if you added them. Nothing else on this site asks you for personal information.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages get read and roughly where visitors come from. It sets cookies. I use it to decide what to write next, nothing more.

It is off until you say yes. Analytics storage is set to denied before any tag loads, so if you decline, ignore the banner, or browse with JavaScript off, no analytics cookies are set at all. Declining changes nothing about how the site works.

There is no advertising here. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are permanently denied and are not offered as a choice, because I do not run ads or build advertising audiences from this site.

You can change your mind at any time using the link below, and the change applies immediately without a reload.

The contact form is handled by Resend, which delivers the message to my inbox. The site itself is served by Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver pages and blocks abuse.

Why I collect it, and for how long

To reply to you. That is the only reason. Your message becomes an email in my inbox, and I keep it as long as it is useful for our conversation or any work that follows.

If you ask me to delete it, I will, and I will confirm when it is done. You do not need to give a reason.

Who else sees it

The services that make this site work: the hosting provider that serves the pages, and the email provider that delivers your message to me. They process it so I can receive it, and nothing more.

I do not sell your information, and I do not share it for anyone else to market to you.

Where your data goes

I operate outside the UK and the EU, and the services this site uses may store or process data in other countries. If you are contacting me from the UK or the EU, that means your information may be transferred outside your region.

TO CONFIRM: the specific hosting and email providers, and the transfer safeguards they rely on, will be named here once they are finalised.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I will do it.

If you are in the UK or EU you have these rights under GDPR, along with the right to complain to your local data protection authority if you think I have handled your information badly.
